5 signs you are not living up to your full potential

Existing vs Living

There is a difference between existing and living. Existing is resisting. Living is embracing.

We are conditioned from an early age to live life in a certain way, follow certain rules and re-enact the patterns of others. Somewhere down the line, some level of discontent creeps in. We wonder whether we need a new job, a new relationship, or a new location. We start to wonder what is outside of the box that we have built around ourselves.

But what stops you taking action on this? Your conscious mind likes to be safe. To stay safe in the box it knows, even if this is an unhappy one.

Behind your conscious mind is a much greater being that wants to get out of that box and live a greater potential. You did not choose life to exist. You chose life to live.

Five signs to watch out for

If you're experiencing any of these five signs, there is something much greater waiting for you. A life that will make you happier, more content and more fulfilled.

  1. Frustration

Do you find yourself easily frustrated? Do you get annoyed at the confines placed on you in your working or personal life? Do you get irritated easily and take this out on other people?

2. Envy

Do you find yourself looking at other people's lives, envious of what they have? Does it annoy you that they are experiencing something that you are not? Notice how you do not react this way to all people. You react this way to people who are living a life that you desire.

3. Lack of energy and enthusiasm for life

Is it a struggle to get out of bed in the morning? Do you find yourself feeling drained often? Does going to work or the gym feel like a chore? Do you lack enthusiasm to go out and do things, yearning instead to stay at home?

4. You have a dream you are not pursuing

Do you have fleeting thoughts about an ideal life, your dream world? Perhaps it's something you think you will do when you semi-retire. Or have you realised that you have never stopped to think about what your ultimate dream is? If you have a dream and are doing nothing towards it, or you haven't even stopped to consider what your dream is, you are not living up to your full potential.

5. You keep making excuses

Do you keep putting things off? Even fun things? Are there things you'll do next year, when you have more savings or when XYZ happens first? Do you keep looking back at the end of the month or year and think "next time, I really will do that".

What does this mean?

If you're experiencing these signs, there is a much greater life out there for you. It doesn't need to involve a scary 'quit your job and find yourself consuming mushrooms' in Thailand journey. It can be as simple as a few changes in your day-to-day life.

You do not have to live a suppressed life inside the box that society and your younger self built for you.

And what's on the other side is your dream, is your holy grail. It is possible. You deserve to live to your full potential. To embrace and maximise your life. To feel great excitement and happiness every single day. You are worth so much more than just existence.

"I think back to our conversations at the start of last year and to where I am now, who is in my life and what I've attracted, it's incredible!! Thank you for your guidance, time and positivity :) Charlie, UK, Private Life Coaching
